• Have an overall responsibility for developing new and cost effective compliant API,Excipient vendors for the new projects selected
• Driving the API vendors for samples, tech packs, standards and information
• Development and commercial procurement of excipients
• Cost effective negotiations- Leveraging various negotiation tools
• Developing pricing tools
• Develop & implement sourcing strategies for API,
• Compliance monitoring of manufacturing sites and identifying proactive risks
• CDA,Supply agreements management
• Document management
• Strong delivery management skills
• Supply risk assessment APIs
• Stakeholder management, e.g. SCM,FD,RA,QA,NPL,NPD teams
• Owning end to end P2P,purchase to pay, process
• Gather Market intelligence information for API and identifying cost effective reliable suppliers
• Apply Procurement skills and that deliver value & savings for the business
• Constantly scan for opportunities in the market by exploring new technologies and supplier bases.
• Lead Procurement in New product developments and New product launches 
• Forecast commodity prices systematically & accurately given volatile supply market by using market information, fundamental and statistical research for key spend areas
• Manage supplier relationship with all key vendors of APIs to manage short term and long term business requirements.
• Prepare and lead fact based negotiation and select supplier
• Initiate and coordinate with vendors for audits

• Qualification & Experience
• Commerce Graduate /Diploma holder from a reputed institute with a management degree is preferred
• Experience of 6-7 yrs in Procurement of API/RMs in pharmaceutical industry particularly for regulated markets
• Knowledge
• Knowledge of API Sourcing in regulated markets
• Knowledge of Budgeting & Forecasting process
• Knowledge of regulatory and intellectual property management
• Knowledge of all cost drivers and market forces that affect sourcing activities & supplier management.
• Familiarity with Govt.s industry and taxation policies, especially regarding export/import of materials.
• Knowledge of macroeconomic environment of India/global and ability to analyze key trends in supply markets emerging out of the economic indicators

• Ability to use cost management tools to achieve cost control, cost reduction & cost containment
• Ability to strengthen supplier management to drive for supplier cost reductions and deliver cost savings to the business.
