4 A's for Acing the Interview
The interview is not simply a chance for you to respond to questions you are asked but also to know what to expect and how to conduct yourself in an interview greatly enhances your chances of receiving job offers.
Here is the 4 A's to get an advance in the interview.
Attire to make an impression
"You never get a second chance to make a first impression."
✔ You can make a very good impression at the first of a hiring manager based on how you are dressed, before exchanging the words with him.
✔ In general, the candidate dressed in a suit and tie is going to make a much better impression than the candidate dressed in scruffy jeans and a t-shirt.
✔ Appropriate attire supports your image as a professional person who takes the interview process seriously and understands the nature of the industry in which you are trying to become employed.
✔ Good grooming and hygiene is essential, so make sure you have clean hair, fingernails, fresh breath, deodorant, etc.
✔ Accessories should be kept smart, so if you are taking a bag with you, a smart satchel, briefcase or handbag would be the better option over a backpack.
Answer the questions smartly
✔ Preparing for regular interviews is highly advised and you have to think about every possible question you could be asked, and you have to be able to answer them all.
✔ Always remember that your seniors are not just looking forward to what you are going to tell but also how you are going to handle the questions.
✔ When you are answering a question, Make sure your language is crisp and simple enough for others to understand.
✔ Stick to being as professional as possible. If possible, you should prepare a personal statement that will quickly help them to understand and describe who you are and what can you do for the company.
✔ Get a list of questions that could be asked. Give quantifiable answers, where you prove what you're saying about yourself.
✔ Work on body language, and facial expressions.
Apply your experience
✔ Employers don't like to hear long lists of job responsibilities. They will be interested in your major work accomplishments and responsibilities as per job title.
✔ Work experience is one of the most important assets of you and the first thing that employers look for.
✔ The Hiring managers always want to gauge how well your skills and experience match what they're looking for.
✔ Demonstrate that you have done it in the past by giving examples or even case studies. And it is an important to explain precisely how well you perceive the job.
✔ It's all well and good to say you can do something but unless you have a real life experience to tell, you are not being very credible.
Ask the Right Questions
✔ This is your opportunity to interview employers that you are really interested in them or the opportunity.
✔ This is your time to stand out from others. Get creative and show that you've invested thought into the question
✔ A job seeker with no questions is assumed to be either 'not interested' or 'not very smart'.
✔ You need to be prepared to ask the right questions.
✔ Asking good questions and getting answers to those questions should help you decide whether or not you want to work for the employer.
