Interview Tactics to get the Job-Part-2
Hiring managers strive to hire the candidate who is best suited for the job in terms of their skills and experience, but they're also looking to identify the best fit.
Let's take a look at some of the interview tips to gain the upper hand.
Display your skills with concrete examples.
✔ You should show that you are hard working, but it will be hard for the Hiring Managers to believe you unless you prove it.
✔ Tell a story of how you were hard working. Don't leave it up to the imagination of the interviewer to figure out how. Rather, explain in detail and give an example to illustrate it.
Be nice to everyone you meet.
✔ From the very first conversation you have with a recruiter, to the courtesies with the receptionist, to the friendly banter in an elevator - all eyes are on you.
✔ If you're rude to the receptionist or anyone else for a matter, it will get back to the recruiter.
✔ It will create a bad impression about you and if two candidates with similar qualities, you have to be got out from the competition.
✔ Sell yourself. Bring a smile, knowledge of your field, and passion. Show you're the one who can get it done best compared to the rest.
Stay on message
✔ You should be constantly around the concept. Don't move away while answering.
✔ Be yourself, be clear, and be memorable.
✔ Prove you are the right candidate by weaving your story to fit the company's needs. Tell them more about your work ethics and what you are like at work every day through your past experiences. Make the employer want you to be a part of their own story.
Ask the Right Questions
✔ This is your opportunity to interview employers the same way they're evaluating you. Go ahead and ask questions
✔ You need to be prepared to ask the right questions.
✔ Unfortunately, this is a place where many people stress out and mess up. However, this is your time to shine. Get creative and show that you've invested thought into the question.
Send a thank-you note or email.
✔ When there are countless qualified candidates vie for the same role, every detail counts. So thank- you note can make the difference for you.
✔ Remember that the thank-you note can be concise, but it also must be error-free.
